Periféria Center works for better workplaces in the battery and electronics industries in Hungary.

We closely follow battery industry investments in Hungary which will result in Hungary being one of the key manufacturing sites for batteries for electric vehicles. We shed light on main systemic risks for workers in these new factories and uncover opportunities for change.

 

As a partner of Electronics Watch, we monitor workplaces of the Hungarian electronics industry. We amplify workers’ voices about poor working conditions and propose tangible changes in factories. We particularly utilise socially responsible public procurement as a tool for social change. Through our monitoring activities we build partnerships with Hungarian trade unions and their international federations, as well as increase agency of different institutional actors for social change for workers.
