SOCIO-SPATIAL IMPACT OF CAPITAL INVESTMENTS

In the context of the spatial and social inequalities caused by global capitalism, the green transition policies born out of the climate crisis, and the current geopolitical rivalries, Periféria Center aims to work for a more democratic economic and political institutional system. In addition to our global and historical research, we are committed to the search for economic and social alternatives, convinced that the crises of our time, according to the logic of capitalism, can only be postponed for a short period of time and cannot be solved. Accordingly, we explore how patient capital can improve housing conditions and reduce overall indebtedness. We are working on practical ways to implement non-profit real estate development. In the wave of re-industrialization brought about by the green transition in geopolitical rivalry, where Chinese capital investment is playing an increasing role in Hungary, we are trying to find ways to reconcile the interests of the environment, local residents and industrial workers.
